About UMÉ Studio
UMÉ designs objects to elevate everyday rituals working with artisans near and afar.
UMÉ Studio creates sculptural soap, beeswax candles, hand-cast concrete vessels and other objects for thoughtful living. Each piece begins with an architectural lens — examining form, materiality, and the quiet rituals that shape a day.
UMÉ's signature product is the Erode Soap, a traditional cold process hand poured soap that takes eight weeks to cure. Blending goat's milk with natural botanicals, these large, oversized soaps, erode slowly with use. Available in eight distinct scents, each one transforms bathing into a ritual rather than a routine.
In addition to a soap collection, UMÉ works with beeswax and concrete to create a series of candles and bowls. The Tusk Candle collection features sculptural forms that anchor a space with their distinct design. Every summer a collection of hand-cast concrete vessels are created in the UMÉ studio in Oakland, each hand poured, with no two pieces alike. The natural pigments and mineral flakes in the cement settle uniquely with each pour, creating objects that carry their own character.
These are not purely functional items, rather design objects, sculptural in form to be enjoyed equally as objects of beauty.
